Lauren Wilson-Smith

Lauren is the founder and CEO of ID Crypt Global, a digital identity and security specialist. For the past 6 years, Lauren’s drive and passion has been the need for privacy preserving identity, and in an ever increasingly digital world, improved cyber security controls. While identity has become an increasingly popular topic, the ground work over the past 5 years in building out privacy preserving business models and technology has been both challenging and foundational. Under Laurens leadership, this foundational work has seen ID Crypt Global not only shape concepts such as Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) and Self-Sovereign Encryption, but also to build and deliver powerful decentralised identity based solutions.

Lauren has strong beliefs in Web 3.0 models, not only for identity but also with regards to online payments and the use of crypto currencies. As such, ID Crypt Global is placed at the very bleeding edge of both identity, security and now crypto trading.Prior to founding ID Crypt Global, Lauren held roles as HR director and Strategic Relationship Manager for one of the UK’s largest distributors of IT and media technology. In her various roles, she successfully put in place the right culture, allowing her to develop numerous high performing teams across the business, including business development, marketing and sales. Under her stewardship she become responsible for a team of over 150 people and helped drive revenue to circa £200m a year.

As part of her HR experiences, Lauren has become increasingly a champion of women in the workplace, especially within fields that are still predominately male focussed, such as technology and finance. In her personal life, Lauren is a mother of 4 and is still highly involved in performing arts, where her career initially started. Lauren helps out a the Pauline Quirk Academy where she enjoys teaching and coaching students in music, dance and singing.
